I am thinking of getting 2 apple snails and 2 red cherry shrimp...or rodulph shrimp.

would they be compatable in the same tank?

would they also be compatable with 2 small corys (like 1 1/2 inch)

and..

would they be compatable with zebra danios?

thank you for any advice you may have!

I think apple snails are compatible with cory's. I keep two danios with my apple snails. I did have 4 danios but they seemed to pick on the snails, trying to peck their antlers sad.gif I gave two away and the two left seem to be okay and leave my babies alone.

I dont know anything about shrimps, so I cant offer advice there unsure.gif

thank you for the insight. I think i would like one snail... did some reading and decided on one snail. I dont want a thousand million snails LOL. i will wait on the shrimp idea till i get more info. but i absolutely fell in love with all the apple snails i see. i will go to fish haven 2maro. thank you for your help.

As far as I know, that would be fine but just make sure that they have enough food as they all are scavengers(exept the danios of course!). smile.gif

I went and bought 5 ghost shrimp today. They are all hidding underneath my hidding haven. anyhoo... I saw one of them holding pea in his arms and just chowing down. It was the cutest thing i have ever seen. ok well i never seen a shrimp eat. only been eaten!

i realized I cant get any snails yet because the back of my aquarium has an opening wide enough for the filter. The snails can easily escape from their. sad.gif

does anyone have any suggestions on how to cover the back... im thinking I should get GLAD cling wrap lol.... JUST KIDDING.

umm.. I have a few snails and my tank also has a big opening in the back for my filter....I've never had a problem with them getting out of the tank...as a matter of fact I have never seen them come completely out of the water....hope that was helpful.

hey thats awsome. i would really like to have an apple snail. i saw some really nice ones at the LFS.I was so tempted. I think I mifht get one in the near future. My boyfirend offered to cut some plexi-glass so it fits the back where the filters are. I cant wait. they are so cute!

I have a pretty wide opening at the top of my snail tank, because I have a light with a bendy arm, similar to a desk lamp, and it clamps to the back of the tank. The clamp bit wont allow the glass to completely cover the tank. I haven't had a problem with them crawling out, however every morning I count the snails to make sure no one is missing lol.GIF
