I have had my 2 commets for 3 months now and they have not seemed to grow very much. I have been terrified of over feeding them (for obvious reasons such as swim bladder and high amonia levels) I was told as advice from the pet shop:

"If you think your not feeding them enough...your probably feeding them too much."

Now I know, obviously, that "not enough" could mean starving. I feed them every evening a very tiny pinch... as they are tiny goldies (about an inch each). does anyone have any advice on if i should feed them more or if they are ok??

thank you for your concern,
Ranchugirl
Cassandra, I would feed them just a bit more. The once-a-day feeding method is meant for adult fish. Smaller, baby fish need more meals a day. I feed mine up to 4 times a day, just small amounts, like you have been doing anyway. Feed the same amount in the morning as well.
Babies do need more frequent meals to properly grow.

Comets are slim goldfish anyway, they are not prone to swimbladder problems all that much. Not like the fancy, round bodied goldies, which have their intestines and organs cramped up so much more to fit into that round body. Comets' organs are much more "widespread", and swim bladder problems almost never occur in comets. Or shubunkins for that matter....smile.gif
