I just bought this plant and i have put it in my new tank that is still cycling.
Has any one had this plant before?
Its called a banana lilly and it looks really weird it has these weird worm like stalks and little leaves at look like lilly leaves
I would really like to know if my gold fish is going to eat it or not-_-
also if it is ok for the gold fish.
Thanks^_^

http://www.fnzas.org.nz/320+B6JnVzZXJfcGxh...MDE4Yzg2.0.htmlMost likely the goldfish will think this is food. Don't beary the roots on this plant leave it just floating in the tank. This is a cool plant but I had it once with goldfish and they thought it was a salad

I have the same plant. (But I didn't know what it was called until I read this post; thanks, guys!) It's been in my tank for a week (unplanted and semi-floating) and so far my goldfish have left it alone. So who knows, maybe it'll last a bit longer than salad!

I have had this plant in the past, and have recently got a few more.
My fish don't eat it either.
Last time I kept it, it actually bloomed for me, I don't know what I did right but it was a very pretty floating purplish/blue flower.
Good luck with yours.

The ones I have now are just floating. The one that bloomed shot out roots from the "bananas" into the gravel so it was anchored down (the bananas stayed above the gravel).
One of the plants I have now also has these roots but I recently went to a bare bottomed tank. I've been trying to figure out someway to add small areas of gravel for plant roots for a little while now.
