ive tried different foods, some foods give different results. so is it true? different foods = different colors?
two tanks.
one tank: rice; slowly scales will become black. second tank: peas, carrots, veggies: scales will be lighter.

I think that goldies change color on their own and theirs nothing you really can do to stop it really....It a genetics type thing ya know?
The only foods that I know that change colors is Algea based products, If you feed your goldies enough algea they will most likely change colors.
Oh every goldfish on this earth goes through a color change some of them we can barely notice others we cant bealive lol!

nope. im just assuming it all. would they become black permanently? because theyre all orange/red now. one is getting lighter, few scales black while others are slowly being blackened. o.o thanks for acknowledging that food does not change their color.

I would be interested to know if the fish really did turn black! I have a black moor that is losing his black and if the rice helps with color I would like to add it to his diet! As long as your not JUST feeding the rice I would think it's a good idea!

Just out of curiosity again,do you do consistent water param tests?
Wouldn't it be like People???? You eat to much of one thing (lets say carrots) your skin will become a orange(y) color? Im not sure... Jut do water changes if the color of the water isn't normal....

This is somewhat true as it is beta carotein found in carrots which the goldies use to create bright red colors. And it is carrots which has a plentiful amount.
