I have tried this and while they are a good food it is (IMHO) a pain to do. Feeding to newly hatched fry is almost a must but the adults will do as well on "easier foods". Try it just for the experience you may find you like it. biggrin.gif

Most lfs have the eggs. you will need an airpump, airstones, a cleaned out gallon milk jug will work for the container. I never raised to adulthood but you wil have to find a food to feed them (probably could get help from your lfs on that)

Hi,
I have raised brine shrimp to feed to newly hatched fry, but have not raised the shrimp themselves.

I don't think it would be overly difficult and there is probably good info out there on go0gle or something like that on how to do it.

I hatched mine in a small jar, with salt water, mixed in the proportions called for on the package of brine shrimp eggs. I didn't use an airpump or anything, just set the jar in a warm spot and they hatched in about 24 hours or so. Then I fed the newly hatched shrimp to the fry. Boy, did they love them biggrin.gif

You can buy frozen brine shrimp to feed adult fish in the freezers at your larger lfs.
New to gold's
Hi all, I was at my lfs today with a friend. She was looking in the frozen and dried food section. The owner of the lfs asked her if she needed any help. She was looking for frozen brine shrimp for her trops and golds. The owner said that the brine shrimp has no food value and he did not recommend it, but it was their best seller. His suggestion was dried blood worms and that would be the only food that her fish would need. Any comments or experience with this info?
