Picked up some live waxworms at the LPS today. The goldies seem to like them.
I'm tempted to try and culture them.

I remember using them for fishing bait as a youngin'.
Should be good for goldies as well since it's similar to
mosquito larvae. yuma.gif

My wax worm adventure....

We had been fishing, (before I discovered goldfish!) and it was end of the season. My FAVE bait is waxworms, and I had all these worms left after our fishing trip. Sooo, I decide to keep them in a container, with cornmeal as food. Put in a dark place, as was told. Month or so later, I remember the worms in the dark cupboard, and raise lid to check them out. wink.gif Many dozens moths come flying out, and ALL over the kitchen!! rofl3.gif

they can be a hassle to culture sometimes, but they're worth it; i've never had a goldfish who'd turn them down.

you'll want to watch the serving amount though, particularly around adults, as they're rather high in fat and protein

Attack of the killer moths! LOL

My ryunkin turned up his nose at redworms the other day, but was begging for more waxworms yesterday.
