In size and tendency to dissolve, the Spectrum pellets are very like ProGold. Here's a repost of my evaluation of Spectrum last May:
QUOTE
My bigger fish really love this food, and go for it before they eat Hikari Lionhead. I've found test reports that compare it to ProGold for growth and color. The Dojos get excited about it too.
But it doesn't soften quickly when you soak it, and then it dissolves too much, leaving a visible trail of particles when you add it to the tank. If you soak your pellets before feeding, this food is too messy.
Also, the pellets are bigger than Hikari Lionhead (which is still our favorite food), but they are easy to break up by hand for smaller fish.
I will keep this brand on hand as one of the foods to give my fish, but I do not recommend it as your primary goldfish food if you soak pellets before feeding or tend to feed more than will be eaten right away.
