I've become frustrated recently over my plants. I've tried about 12 species of different plants and only found about two that my fish won't absoutely destroy. It's not so much the cost since aquaruim plants are rather inexpensive but the inconvience of having to go purchase more every couple of days. So I decided to try those bulbs nnnnnn sells in it's aquaruim section. They didn't come with much intructions except to simply throw them in the tank and watch them grow. Does anyone have experience with this product?

If I remember right, those are usually aponogens, things like crispus and onion plants...
For the most part that's all you do, toss them in and wait. Try not to completely bury the bulb, at most bury it halfway. What a lot of people suggest is to toss it in there, wait for it to sprout a leaf or two (that way you know which end is UP) and then "plant" it buried halfway up the bulb. Bulb plants generally dont' need a ton of light but the more the merrier of course, and they do sometimes go dormant. Very similar to garden bulb plants like tulips.

Thanks. Right now my bulbs are just lying on the gravel. I guess I'll pot them up if and when they germinate. Love the fish on your heading by the way.

Yes, I have both the Aponogeton and the lilly bulbs.
Here they are about 3 weeks after I put them in the tank.
only one of the Aponogeton bulbs sprouted.
all four of the lilly bulbs sprouted.
The leaves sprout out first, then the roots.

I, too, had better luck with the lily bulbs, as opposed to the aponogeton. Four of my lilies sprouted, as well, but I didn't get any of the aponogetons
