I have 25 Gallon tank with a Sarasa comet and Shabunkin in. I have just started a cycle, so no readings as of yet.
Daisy the Shabunkin has white spot, so will go and get med tomorrow but its poor Clarabel, just when things looked on the up, her back fin and others are fraying, falling a apart, is this fin rot, and whats the best coarse of action?

Hi declan. The first thing I would start with is the water. Getting the readings asap will help. Almost any illness can be helped by having them in healthy water.
Could the fins be getting caught on anything?
I was told once that true fin rot looks like the fringe on a cowboy leather coat......get it?
If it is just splitting then it is probably just that and salt will help it.
