I have 4 zebra danios, bought all at same time & same place..... Now 2 have got really prominent black stripes with the yellow colouring and the other two are paler, is this normal??
Are they males and females???
My dad is convinced the two more prominent coloured ones pick on the other 2 - I have not seen this, but am curious? Any ideas??? smile.gif

You may have 2 females and two males. I found this info on a website:

"Sexing: The male has smaller yellow stripes between his black lines than the female, whereas the females have a background of silver. Females also tend to be rounder and more wide"

I have danios and some have darker stripes and others lighter. I'm not sure why(??)
I also have a leopards danios and it's the same thing. Others have darker spots than others. why.gif

i have 1 leopard and 1 zebra. The suspected male has a lot more defined black areas than the female.
