Just went for a last check on my fishies, and noticed that Calliope, who is the most beautiful orange fantail, is missing a huuge chunk of tail, and what's left looks most definitely like finrot, opaque white, and raggedy, with red streaks.

How could I miss this before? It looks awful! I immediately checked all the vitals, pH 6.8, ammonia nil, nitrites nil, no kit for nitrates but did a 50% water change on wed.

She's in a 30 gallon (yes i know, but its a temp measure) with the rest of the fish in my sig, no major probs, varied diet, dosed with liquisil tonic, aqua clear and top up of salt at last water change.

I'm away for the weekend, which is a major stress as no one will be there to keep an eye on her. i haven't even got time to set up an iso tank for her, so i've just dosed the whole tank with Interpet antif fungus and finrot (thank the gods we keep a well stocked cabinet)

Anything else I can do for her when I get back? just hoping she holds out til I get back on Sun.

Also, housemate just walked past and said the bristlenose is lying on its back- what have i DONE! Off to try and sort this mess out, have I just poisoned him or what?

Yours in panicked frustration (got to be in london in 2 hrs.....)

from what ive read you cant dose the tonic and the anti fungus together, you need to wait about 7 days between the fungus and the tonic. did you remove the carbon from your filter?

it looks like youve overdosed on the meds and it may have killed your plec or stunned it.
