There are nice dwarf lilies that you can buy that grow very well in aquariums. I have several red coloured ones. If you want them to flower, you let the leaves go to the surface. However, most people do not want just surface leaves in an aquarium, so when one of the leaves shoot up to the surface, you cut that one off and that treatment seems to keep the plant submerged, with short stems and leaves that are underwater.
I bought some of my plants from the lfs, but I also bought one of the bags of little bulbs from nooppee and grew some of them that way. nooppee sells two types of bulbs, one for lilies and one for aponogetons. The lilies are a type of nymphea.

thanks in bundles!

I just got an "Encyclopedia" on plants by Peter Hiscock, that tells a lot about plants I figured out that you can stick a peace lily with an airplane plant in your tank and amazon sword plants can grow up to 46 inches in an open tank!

I want to get that book. I have seen it in the bookstore and it looks like a great book. Maybe I should ask Santa
