I have 3 snails in my 20 litre tank with my variety of small cold water fish. I'm not sure what breed they are. I took a photo for you guys to see. Their bodies are pinkish red:



Just wondering how i can keep them healthy as in food, shell and ph. I have read a thread somewhere here that explains all that but I cant find it now.

Does anyone know which thread I'm talking about and where it is. There is a photo of the person kissing her snail at the end which is sooo cool! B)

I have looked on the applesnail.net site but was wondering if the same care applies to this breed?? Can anyone help?

thanks Sharon for that. Does anyone know if Ramshorn snails can live in the same tempreture as apple snails? i really would like an apple snail as well. they are so cute

yes same temp is fine.. how could is the water?? cant go below 18 degrees celcius of the apple snail will die..

i dont know the tempreture of my coldwater tank? if i get an apple snail i will get a heater. i was just worried that my ramshorn snails wouldnt like the heated water.

no they won't mind it.. ramshorns and apples can live together fine.. in my tank i dont have a heater.. but teh house is always 23 degrees celcius.. so the tank stays at 23 degrees celcius

That's a relief that they can live together. I read on applesnail.net that applesnails sometimes eat other snails (which I read after I bought Hubba n Bubba ) so this morning i was making sure all my ramshorns were intact

:S.. that may happen (cannibalism) but that's if you starved them.. so other snails was there last resort (which i know you wont!)

you feed them Veggie Cubes??? is that some kidn of snail food you can buy at a pet store??? I'd like to know the brand of it and such.. im thinking of getting some lol latley my snails have been picky.. yu'd think after a year they'd make up their minds of what they like

The vegie cubes are for gold fish, similer to gel food. I'm not a very good cook so I just buy them to feed my goldfish a few times a week and mix it with some peas to prevent SBD. They are very handy
