I know that flake foods are not the best thing in the world to feed our babies. However... My boyfriend used to keep tropical fish who unfortunately went to heaven. He has a large (unopened) jar of tropical flakes left and I was thinking of using it as an occasional treat for his new gf.
Does anyone know if this would be OK? Whats the difference between the gf flakes and the tropical ones? We are currently feeding (soaked) pellets and veggies though.

I think that it has to do with the fat, protein, and other ingredients % levels. Different types of fish require different combinations of ingredients to achieve what they need out of their diet.

Thank you Athena! That explains it a little better. wish I could return it but I don't have a receipt anymore. Oh well.. Maybe I'll find someone close to me that keeps tropicals.

Why don't you try to put it into the Buy, Trade, or Sell forum. Maybe someone will want it??
