I was thinking about getting snails first and then later when my 55g is set up getting my pleco, so I won't have all the QT issues, and it won't be so overstocked in the meantime. anyway, I was wondering if briggs and canas will breed together and how to tell them apart?

they will mate.. but the eggs wont be fertillized lol
its really hard to tell tehm apart.. on www.applesnail.net it shows u how sorta,,
If you take them out of the water.. look at the relation between their shell and operculum opening.. if its 90 degrees they are brigs... if it sorta curved.. like i mean slightly they are canas lool... you can also tell by what they eat... Canas eat everything fresh.. Brigs go for more rotten plants and like meaty thing.. thats why they love fish food

theres always a chance for snails to have eggs... but most would not be fertilized..
