I know that plants will keep Nitrate levels in check, but will they help with nitrite? Will nitrite harm/stunt plant growth? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

hmm i dont think so.. hey may allow the growth of beeficial bacteria on their leaves.. but they just take nutrients and nitrates from the water.. no nitrites i think
