peaked out of my java moss today!! A little red baby!! happydance.gif
I don't know what it is, and there isn't any red male/female things in my tropicals tank, except for a 3 serpea tetras. The baby has a few black spots as well!!

Isn't that the cutest!?! I'll take a picture when I get home. Was just on my way out and fed them, when I saw the little face!
sandy
aww isnt that cute. cant wait to see the pic.
PondCometer
Uh if its around 1cm you can go with powdered flake, but a fool-proof food is BBS
Ranchugirl
Yeah, it should have around 1 cm already. I doubt the little thing will starve, there is tiny little things to eat all over the place. I saw him gobble up the piece of a bloodworm tonight!
PondCometer
If its planted, then nothing to worry about just watch the growth b4 your eyes smile.gif
Ranchugirl
Planted it is, yes, HEAVILY! There isn't much space in that tank that isn't occupied by some kind of plant, and I just love it. Now, if goldie tanks would be just as easy, that would be cool....rolleyes.gif

aww that is sooooo cute!!!! please hurry up with the pics!!
Ranchugirl
Yeah, well, that is easier said than done - he is such a little speck in the java moss, all I can see on any pictures is a blurry orange blob.
And the number of babies has doubled "overnight" - I found another one hiding in the moss! happydance.gif

I think they are indeed serpea? tetras - two of the 3 I have did a funny dance for the last few weeks, swimming around in the tank in circles, each being on the other fish's behind. I thought that was some sort of mating behavior, but I never noticed one of them being fatter than the other...hmmm....strange...smile.gif

Aw, that sounds so cute!

When I was at the fish store the other day, there were baby white clouds in the plant tank. They were so small, and so bright! I could never understand the description of very young white clouds looking like neon tetras, but when I saw these babies, I understood it biggrin.gif
Ranchugirl
Yeah, they look amazingly similar! I went yesterday to get some neon tetras as well, since my puffer managed to "make most of them disappear", and almost bought some white clouds, because they looked so much alike.
