I have some water wisteria (which i took each stem out and planted it in the gravel, is that ok??) and some Java Moss, Duckweed, Frog Bit and 4 unkown plants that hitched a ride in the Java Moss lol

I think I want to get some tablet fertilizer to encourage more growth for healthier looking plants.. any idea on what kind is good and not too expensive??? I was thinkin fluorish excel.. but is it expensive or any good??

Edit: maybe someone can help me indentify them.. ok one looks like a tree root with a stem coming out of one side and roots out of the other.. but the body looks like a tree root (same colour and texture)

the second one (which i got two of) look like little Jalapenos.. literally, they are lying on th bottom of the tank no roots or anything they just look like Jalapenos lool

The third one is a stem with thin needle pointed leaves.. not cambomba tho.. the needles come out seperatley from the stem.. like on the steam no needles belong to a group or section, they are all seperate..

so any idea???

Thanks:D

ok...

The big three for growing healthy plants are
-plenty of light in the correct spectrum--2 or 3 watts per gallon.
-plenty of nutrients
-carbon dioxide.

If you have a low light tank, and goldies, you really don't need to add fert tabs, except for under plants that are heavy root feedings. The goldies provide plenty of ferts in a low light situation.

Flourish excel helps by adding carbon. Plants can use that in addition to CO2 that's in the water. It might help... depending on whether CO2 is the limiting factor. My bet is light is the limiting factor.

So how much of what kind of light do you have over the tank?

Wysteria (Hygrophila difformis) should do fine rooted in the gravel.

The brown tuber could also be an Aponogeton.

Maybe the jalapenios are the bottom of a banana plant.

The last one could also be hornwort.

alright thanks for the reply!!! wel its a 10 galolon tank wih a fluorescent light and only 1.4 watts per gallon... and the only think living in it is a Betta... so woudl fluorish excel be a good way to go??

thanks for helping me classify my plants!!!

Flourish is a pretty good fertilizer, just make sure to follow the directions. If you use too much you'll just be encouraging algae to grow.
