My betta has one white spot on his head. I do not know what it is, could it be sick? It does have fin rot, and I do not know what medicine to get? Does anyone what is wrong with my betta?

Thanks

It maybe the start of ICH to be sure though read this Ich (whitespot)

Also take a look at the picture that is attached within that thread.. if your betta looks something like that and or acts or has any Symptoms as the page lists.. then im betting thats what it could be.

How long has he been this way? when did you first notice it?

Im not saying that it is 100% ich im not sure, but that to me is what it sounds like its a start of - my guy had it too. anyways, I hope this helps!

Please keep us posted... Good Luck!

He started getting a white spot just yesterday, and he got another on the side of his head. What type of medicine should I buy? Is it true that Ick is carried by frozen bloodworms?

I don't know anything about ich, hun. But I do know their are plenty of good meds for it. Can't think of names for you at the moment though. Check the pinned thread by Devs at the top of the betta page. It's named Betta meds made easy, or something very similar. It goes through different illnesses and meds for them and also it scales the meds down to smaller tanks and bowls for bettas. Great info in there! You should find what you're looking for there.
Good luck with your boy! Erin

Treatment: Ich has a free-swimming stage in its life-cycle so the whole tank must be treated, not just the affected fish. Do not use a hospital tank for this reason. EITHER treat with salt at a .3% solution OR with medications containing Malachite Green, Formalin or Copper (examples: Rid-Ich (US), Protozin (UK)). Increase tank temperature to high 70's and if using a Malachite Green medication keep tank completely dark and covered over. Continue treatment until fish have been completely ich-free for at least 3 days, ideally 6 days. Vacuum the substrate thoroughly after treatment has finished to remove any remaining parasites in tank.
Precautions: Check water quality regularly during treatment as both salt and meds can affect the cycle. Due to its life-cycle, ich can re-occur after treatment has finished; if this happens re-start treatment and do not stop until fish have been ich free for at least 6 days.

I think i also used Bettafix or something along that line.. for my guy.. hmm the only thing i can tell you is read the back of the package/bottle before you buy it - see what it is used for.. and also another good thing to do is ask the person at the petstore for help. Also be sure to ask him/her any other questions you may have about it. Im sure they will get you what you need. Good Luck
