Well I remember someone asking a while back about what some of the abbreviations stood for and I was able to help, but knowing I had missed many I kept an eye out for any compiled list and I found one, which I believe many people might find to be helpful so here thay are:

LFS - local fish store
PC – Power compact
CF – Compact fluorescent
UGF/UG – Under gravel filter
HOB – Hang on back
GF – Goldfish
C02 – Carbon dioxide
KH – Carbonate hardness
GH – General hardness
RO – Reverse Osmosis
TDH – Total dissolved hardness
FW – Freshwater
BW - Brackish water
SW – Saltwater
BBS – Baby brine shrimp
BBA – Black beard algae
MTS – Malaysian Trumpet snail
PPM – Parts per million
SAE – Siamese algae eater
CAE – Chinese algae eater
WPG – Watts per gallon
BPS – Bubbles per second
BPM – Bubbles per minute
AG – AllGlass
NH3 – Ammonia
NO2 – Nitrite
NO3 – Nitrate
AQ- Aquaclear
HOT- Hang On Tank

Wow that is helpful.......thanks for posting that. Now if we could only remember all of them. I still think it takes awhile. It took me forever to figure out UGF. I finally laughed when I realized what it was. Here I thought it was a fancy filter system. lol.GIF

One I have seen also is LPS= local pet store
