I have a bag of Algae discs which i feed to my cories and I found out that algae can enhance color. Is it ok if I feed my golfish with algae discs? Is there any side effects to a goldfish for eating these?

It's natural for goldies to gnaw on algae so it would be OKAY!

When I had snails in with my goldies, they would go after the algae discs for the snails all the time. I still feed it to them every now and then. They get plenty of algae in their natural environment as well, so go ahead and give them some....

Speaking about algae i found something in the nutramax section of my LPS they had a "algae tablet which sticks on glass, and it contains 30% spirulina!

be sure to soak it first in tank water.

And be careful with big fish and algae disks! I had to remove an ENTIRE algae disk from my oranda's mouth the other night. PIGGY tried to eat the WHOLE THING and got it stuck in his mouth! I didn't think it was possible, but I guess it is!

So soaking is definately a good idea, I am doing that from now on!
