Hi -

I am new to the board and am hoping to get some help. I have a Calico Ryukin in a 55 gallon tank with 5 other fish. The Ph Level is 6.8, Nitrites are 0ppm, Nitrates are 40ppm and everyone else in the tank is happy and healty looking. My Calico recently started to swell right up, and now she looks like a little basketball! unsure.gif Her little fins stick straight out to the sides and she seems to have a tough time swimming. She has been eating and pooping pretty normally, but I did see a little bit of zigzagged poop in the tank this morning. I asked at my lfs about her and they said that she is too young/little to be egg laden. I was worried that it could be dropsy as she has a little bit of a rough texture on her sides, but her scales aren't really sticking out. So can anyone offer any help/advice cause I'd really hate to lose her?

did this come on slowly or fast?

It came on kind of slow...over the last week or two she gradually got bigger. It's a moot point now I guess as she was floating belly up in the tank this morning. sad.gif
