Last year I noticed a few young fishies swimming around and I scooped them out of the pond.
Two have turned out white and I think I see orange/red/black and maybe even blue-ish in them. They have huge black eyes as well and a black mustache.
The others are olivegreen/brown-ish.

Now the pond contains 1 Koi (it was a present, I know they muck up your pond etc) thats white with red/black/orange, 1 Shubunkin with all those colours as well and 4 goldfish.
The problem is: who're the parents? ;-)

My guess would be that the two white ones are from the shubunkin crossed with a goldfish and that the olivegreen/brown-ish have 2 goldfish parents.

Also, when do they start to colour?
They're about 1,5 years old now, maybe even older, and yet no sign of colouring in them. I read that professional breeders get the colour faster by light and certain types of food as spirulina. My fish got a bit less light probably but does it really make a year difference?

Probably got the same question again in a few months, when the fry from THIS year are a bit bigger. So far I'm thinking regular goldies though. ;-)
