Ive just got some new guppies, i think that theyre male and female, but i cant be sure. one is constantly chasing the other, and she seems to be rubbing on the plants that he is rubbing on, and the female looks slightly fatter than the male. any one help me? also, got som new mollies, need some info...

This is something I've wondered too. Anyway, what I have found on websites and in books is that the female is larger than the male. The males are also more colorful.
Hopefully somebody with breeding (they need to know the genders) experience will come and help us...

The way you can tell what gender any live breeder is by looking at thier anal fins. males will have a thinner pointed anal fin, and females will have a fan shped anal fin.

The males usualy have alot more color then the females and have long flowing fins ect ect. good luck!

i dont no alot about guppies but in general i think the males are more colourful.. good luck with the new ones and keep us updated B)

Thanks guys, much needed - in that case ive definately got a male and a female, and they do seem to be quite interested in one another.....
