I was devastated earlier this year when I lost all 4 of my bettas suddenly to internal bacterial infections stemming from constipation (stemming from Hikari Betta BioGold). I was so upset that I quit bettas altogether. Well today I finally changed my mind and broke down and brought a beautiful new baby home. My friends at work were in awe when they saw him and said if I didnt buy him, they would! He is black with a purple undertone on his body and has bright yellow fins, and when hes flared you can see iridescent blue on them. It was

at first sight. Im going to use the mistakes and problems I had with my last bettas to make sure this guy has a long, happy life!

As you can see several of us are really struggling with our bettas right now.
I wish you all good things with your new baby! He sounds gorgeous - any pics yet? We knew you would fall in love again. It just takes some time to work through the pain of the tremendous loss you had.

Im so sorry so many of you are havign problems right now. Sad as it is, my pet bettas at the store in vases and bowls are doing 1o times better than mine in tanks ever did. Go figure.
Anyway its not great quality but heres a quick pic of the new boy. My camera batteries were dying so it wouldnt focus but you get the idea!

Cool! Very unique. You've learned so much from your mistakes as we all have from each other...you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
I was thinking about the same thing...about the bettas in the cups doing better than my own. My friend has a betta in a small fish bowl that has been doing well for 2 1/2 years. Here mine are sick and they had it all...I slack on 1 water change and I lost 1 and the other's not doing great. Another lesson learned.

Oh he's gorgeous, those colors!
Yeah, my neighbor was a given a betta by her father who didn't want it anymore. He was in a little bowl all his life and he looks great! Now she has him and she doesn't even change his water as much as she should and he looks perfect. I don't get it. And here we are doing everything we can and still have fins rotting off left and right!
Again, good luck with the little beauty!
