bug girl
this morning I was feeding my goldies peas and gave a couple litle chunks to my betta, Kumquat. As usual, I reached in with one finger with a small pea chunk stuck to it. I usually touch the surface of the water with my finger with the chunck on it and it sinks and Kumquat runs after it. Well, today, the first time I reached in he jumped and nibbled my finger before it touched the water leaving the pea. I thought he felt threatened or something. I dropped in the chuck and he ate it. The second time, he jumped out of the water and nabbed the chunck off my finger half an inch above the water!!! Hungry.gif

No one can tell me that fish dont learn.

rofl3.gif Megan, your Kumquat sounds like a real character! My boys won't eat peas and fortunately that hasn't been a problem as yet and hopefully it will never be. My betta, Geronimo, does jump out of the water and nip the eyedropper when I'm feeding frozen (thawed) bloodworms in the morning. Once he nearly knocked the thing out of my hand he hit it so hard! Now he has me trained to hold the dropper tightly jtmuch.gif
