Hi everyone! biggrin.gif

I own a 70 litre tank with three Ranchu fish.. One of them has since about a week developed a row of white pimples on the leading edge of the pectoral fins..

The last days I was to busy to take a close look at my tank but this morning I discovered little 1 mm. bright "hills" of darkish dots beneath the leaves of one of the plants in my tank.. when I try to get such a dot off the leave with my nail, my finger is covered with I believe 20 or so VERY small balls, the size of a sezame-seed with a dark dot in it.. the leaves are covered with about 30 little 1 mm. "hills" each (the leaves are about 20 cm.)..

now.. Can anyone tell me if these are goldfish-eggs? Sadly, my digicam is broken, so at the moment I haven`t got the possibility to put a picture on the net..

hi dutchranchu

sounds like you have a male in breeding condition. as for the eggs i dont know. do you have any snails in the tank or are the plants new?
DutchRanchu
Yes, I do have three applesnails..

It couldn't be the snails then, apple snails lay their eggs above the water, not in it.
Sounds like goldfish eggs to me, and if they are fertilized you will see some little black dots inside after a few days....smile.gif

if you want the babies I would move the fish until the eggs have hatched so they don't eat them and maybe the fry too, when they hatch.
