how do you cycle a 5 gallon betta tank?

My small tanks cycled just like my large one (although I feel they are more delicate in their balance).

Are you trying to cycle with fish or without??

Bettas make terrible cycling fish with their long delicate fin. If you cycle with the betta, then expect at the least fin rot.

If you want the article to fishless cycling, then let me know. If you can get your hands on an established tank, then by all means. This will speed up your process immensely, if not instantly. Let me know also if you can get your hands on an established tank, then we can go from there.

Also, make sure you have at least an ammonia tester, along with a nitrite and nitrate tester as all three are very important to any fish keeper.
