Two nights ago my calico ryukin was looking distinctly floaty, and as they have been rather overfed on flakes recently, I decided a day's fast, followed by peas would be a good idea.
Trouble was, I had no peas, nor any chance of getting any, so I decided to use carrots, as I was cooking up stew anyway. I fed them a bit before I fasted them, just to make sure they would eat it, and it didn't make it as far as the floor- they were like hoovers

I haven't seen carrots mentioned on here- are you meant to feed them to Goldfish? I thought that the fibre would do them good, and I also wondered whether the betacarotene would help bring out their colours; is this right?
