Some of you might remember that I was going to move Augustus into his own bowl because he was getting bullied by the 6 neons I put in his tank (the wuss! rolleyes.gif ). I did that 2 weeks ago... bought him a huge 2-gallon bowl and planted it quite thickly. He seemed startled for the first couple of days - sank to the bottom and wouldn't eat - then he started exploring and looking much happier and more interested and alert than I've ever seen him.

But I was astonished to discover this morning that he had constructed himself a bubble nest! biggrin.gif He never made one before. Now he's bustling about, putting the finishing touches to it and patrolling round it proudly. It's a lovely thing to see - I'm really thrilled for him. heartpump.gif smile.gif

What a difference still water, lots of tall plants and no pesky neons can make!

sounds like my male bettas at the moment. sitting on the bottom, not eating much. hopefully theyll perk up soon. great news about augustus, emma! i remember when hades made his first bubble nest. once they start, they cant stop!
