I have a set of guppy puppies in my breeding box suspended in the guppy tank. (two weeks old or so) I have java moss in with them. Today I picked 3 dead babies out of there. I am losing babies!!!!!

I do not think that breeding box gets the sort of circulation that it should.

So - which is better - to let them go in the main tank with a large clump of java moss to hide in, or keep them in the breeding box - while I am gone for a week?????????

My fish sitter is not experienced at all - she basically turns lights on and dumps pre-measured amounts of food in the tank. That is all.......

I think at about two weeks of age I put my original fry in with one adult. She left them be... I think it might be better to let them fair on their own at this point. They're strong, they can move out of the way if they're being chased. We want to save them all (I'm going through this right now!), but at two weeks of age you've given them a good head's start to survival. Remember.... if you've got male and female adults, you're gonna have more babies...

Yeah - I was thinking that was the best solution. I will net the intake tomorrrow, dump in the java moss and set them free. I hate to see them die in jail. They are so cute and eat so avidly - shaking and grabbing the food when I feed them. They are so much fun to watch. There are some darker ones and lighter ones. I wish I could see them better. smile.gif

Let us know how everything goes smile.gif i hope they make it. Look in your filter time to time... sometimes those little fry could still find ways of getting in the filter. It has happend to me many times.
