HI Sharon,
Sapphy is doing great, along with Jester. I too am doing ok, trying to settle in for the upcoming holidays. We have had a busy week, and it doesn't seem to slow down anytime soon. Hope all is well with you.
KOKO,
I have 2 days of Metrogold yet and then what???? When will we be lowering her temp?

Whats the temp at now hun and how is she acting looking and all that
LaurieP
Oct 26 2004, 05:20 PM
Her temp rides between 79-81. ON hotter days it is 81 and on cooler days around 79. All is well with her, no swelling. Acting fine. Only occasional is she upside down, but for a second and then right again. This only happens maybe once a day I catch her doing it.
To tell the trueth, she loves to play in the bubbles and I think she "rides" them and it swirls her.

Okay hun what I would do since shes still on the med food. drop her tank temp down by 2* over a 24 hour period. you will have to keep an eye on her and if see any kind of redness in her fin pits, base of her tail fin you will need to creep it back to were it was. But lest try to drop by 2* in 24 hours.

Ok she did great. The temp of the tank has been at 77 degrees for 2 days and no signs of illness. YAY!!!
Ok when do I lower it again?
koko
Oct 30 2004, 08:49 AM

Thanks Koko, I actually lowered it 2 degrees yesturday. So she is now at 75 and doing well.
How long do I leave her at this temp? This is the temp of the main tank. So if she does well in a couple days can I move her? And how do you suggest moving her?
koko

I would leave her like that for at least 5 days to see if anything will happen. If shes okay after that you want to float her in the bag of water she comes with for 15 Min's, then every 5 Min's let the water from the new tank in just about a 1/4 cup of water do this for 20 Min's this will get her acclimated to the new tank.

I am happy to report that Ms. Sapphire is well and now in the main tank!!!
She and the others were not impressed. I thought they would freak and welcome her, but it was like "Oh hi where were you?" "Glad you are back, now where is the food???"
They are fitting together just like old times.
I am so thankful especially to Koko, you really done something here at our house. Words will never be enough, you know your fish and what to do.
So this story now ends and ends with a happy ending.............
