OK, I hope you all can help. I have been trying to cycle 15g. Eclipse tank with 2 telescopes for close to 3 months and cannot get past the ammonia spike stage. I have been doing daily water changes of atleast 20 - 40%while syphoning the gravel, feed only once a day, and no more than they can consume in 2 minutes. Everyday, I use AquaSafe in the tap water (which has also been sitting for 24 hours), salt and StressZyme (which was recommended by the local Pet store. I was told this would work as good as BioSpira, LOL!!)

I finally bought a 1 oz. packet of BioSpira which is enough for 30 gallons. How should I do this? Should I clean the gravel and do a water change BEFORE? Should I put 1/2 of the packet directly into tank with fish? What about the second half of the packet? Also, I just bought a new carbon filter, should I rinse this in tank water and put that in at the same time? I really don't want to mess this up, since the fishies have been looking lethargic!!

Any advice would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!

I would do a water change, do not vaccume the gravel, and add the bio spira. Do not change the carbon until a while after the tank has cycled. I had a problem like this when I moved my 125 gallon tank with 12 fish. Lighten up on feeding as much as you can for a while too.
