Hi everyone,

I can't seem to find any popular medicated food here, in canberra at least. The closest thing there is is "Spectrum Thera+A", but i've not heard much about it's effectiveness here.

I've asked and found out that they can't ship medigold to australia sad.gif Anyone here with any positive experiences with medicated food here in australia?

Many thanks,
Kat

I am sorry that I do not know anything about that particular antibiotic food.
Is that your bubble eye in the signature? That is a GORGEOUS fish!!!! druel.gif druel.gif

Sorry - (momentary fish insanity - it happens everytime I see such an outstanding fish!)

Do you think that the shipping regulations would allow an antibiotic to be sent by a private party? Some countries will not even allow that.

It will be nice if we can get antibiotics privately, but the package will most likely be intercepted, and me locked up in jail or something biggrin.gif

That beauty is my late-bubble eye, who died of internal infection of flukes, RIP. Fell in love with her first sight too heartpump.gif heartpump.gif heartpump.gif

Kat, from what I found on Spectrum Thera+A food, its states that it is a non-medicated anti parasitic formula, so it won't do any good when treating for bacterial problems.
The Flagyl that you were able to get seems to be the closest one for any bacterial problem, and I would probably try out to soak your regular fish food in it for a few minutes, in a weaker dosage of course. Unless it says on the package that is isn't for indigestion....smile.gif

You don't think that medicated fish food would make it through customs? Weird. I mean I'm glad they are careful, but whoa.

I know that Flagyl is an internal anti-bacterial (protozoan infestation also) medication commonly used for kittens. I also know that it is perhaps the most evil tasting stuff on the face of the earth, judging by the kitten's response to it. If you have ever treated a kitten with this stuff they will never trust you again in their entire lifetime!!!!

That is too bad about sending medigold..... sad.gif

I guess I'm being paranoid here, I've heard lots of success stories here about ppl treating with medigold, but we can't get it here :crp . Then again, I realy should be focussing on the main problem and hopefully won't even need medicated food (i.e. water quality, no parasites) from now on. It just hurts big time to lose my beautiful fishies when it could so easily be prevented.... cry2.gif
