Hey guys, would it be ok to put the guppy in with one of the bettas? Or am I asking for trouble? That poor guppy just gets fed and ignored. It's a pretty little fish, but I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions?

If the tanks big enough you should be fine but I've heard of fish nipping betta fins..so i dunno

<_< i wouldnt if the guppy is a male. the fighters dont like anything with flashy colours and will try to kill it. i had 10 neons, now i have 1.

i would have to agree and say no,i've tryed this before and it didn't really work out... the guppy would really bug the betta and teh betta fish about not even a day he lost his color and his fins didn't look so good.

lol! No thanks! I'm not overly fond of the little guys myself. Maybe you could return him back to the pet store?
You could try to keep him with the betta. Some bettas are more tolerant than others and I don't think I've ever heard of a guppy nipping a betta's fins. It might be alittle risky but if your betta turns out to be one of the more tolerant ones it might be worth it to try.

Oh brother! Jenn, I got that guppy at nnnnnn. Who would take any poor fish back to them? At least it has food and clean water here. I do think it's lonely though and am trying to find someone local to give it to, since Black Oranda is way the heck in Canada! Sorry B/O. don't tell anyone, but I have even been talking to it. hehehe
