Preventing further probs in prev. diseased tank
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I just lost 3 of my 5 goldies to dropsy I'm concerned about the remaining 2. They were all in my 55 gallon until they started getting sick. Tweety and Morris look fine - no evidence of an internal infection that I can see. Should I do anything as far as medicating my big tank to make sure they don't get an infection? I've got some Medi-gold on it's way to me - I'm hoping to get it tomorrow. I'm wondering if I should feed them that for a period of time, just in case.. :nix

What do you all think??

I'd move the remaining fish to a temporary tank, and clean the entire main tank.

Would be a lot of work, and you'd probably have to recycle the tank, but if it prevents further problems it would be worth it.

good advice from both.... Have to agree completely 'cos that's what I'd do. Strip down tank, feed medicated food.
