Well so far..I've bred Pond Comets #1

Guppies #2 (Doh Like That's Hard rofl3.gif )

and now #3 Endler's Livebearers (If you dont know abou them do a quick Google and you'll find them, becoming more and more common)

Yes Endler's are just as prolific as Guppies but the key in this project is to breed for certain colors and tail designs in each generation..not just toss them in and watch them reproduce hah.gif ...and of course to spred Endler's to fellow aquarist... biggrin.gif

I purchased 6 Young Endler's Livebearers off Aquabid and they arrived yesterday after some problems with D.O.A and such

If I can say so myself I've already fell in love with their immense beauty

The ones are purchased are Orange Peacock Endler's about 2-3 months of age..mature enough to breed but not fully adults...

So far from what I can tell 4 Females 2 Males, 2 Females of which are pregnant..gee 2 days in the mail lol.GIF

They are residing in a 10 Gallon "moderately" planted tank, with 3 Corydoras Cats and a Sponge Filter...

Can't wait to see the results

Will have pictures up ASAP

Thanks For Reading B)

can't wait to see the pictures!

I personally don't care for guppies too much, but I would love to get some endler's.

I want to see pics!! I always thought Endlers were pretty. There's a guppy-endler mix tank at the local pet shop. I say mix because the color/markings are not as vibrant as I think they should be. Double-sword tails though.....

(Doubletail guppies, doubletail guppies... no more fish right now!!!) <--- gotta keep telling myself that! tongue.gif (After I just got a clown loach!! rolleyes.gif )

$#$#$ PICTURES $#$#$

Great Picture of M and F

As you can see the males are Orange Peacock Endlers with a hint of sky blue on their dorsal fins, the females are plain...

P.S: Its not very easy to catch slivers of lightning on camera rofl3.gif

Enjoy..

(Not Great Pics I Know, There Just Soo Fast and Jumpy)

Wow, those are such beautiful fish! Ive never seen Endlers in person before, only in pics. Thats great that youre breeding true ones and not letting any get mixed up.

Last I read scientists are still trying to decide where to classify Endlers. Some places say they are a type of guppy and some say theyre not. Its very interesting to see how so many fish species are constantly being looked at and reclassified.

More Pictures (Little Better This Time biggrin.gif )

(Great Picture of My Males)

As you can see my Endler's decide that my Java Moss would look better floating so i guess they pushed it over to the airstone and made the Java Moss float.. rolleyes.gif so all the gunk and goodies in the Java Moss is left behind..more work for the next water change.. <_< and of course my Corydoras joined in on the feeding frenzy..

P.S: I've noticed if you wait a day or two they are a lot less jumpy and feeding them also helps keep them busy while you grab a few pictures rofl3.gif

ENJOY lol.GIF

Nobody likes my Endler's how sad :-/

I do I do!! wub.gif The females look just like guppies. If you hadn't told me they were Endlers and they were in a photo by themselves I wouldn't have known they were Endlers.
PondCometer
Ya the females are just like guppies "EXCEPT" they have yet to be bred to show color..so they are just plain greyish with a hint of gold from time to time..whats really amazing however is if you look very closely you will see that the fin pattern is a diamond pattern throughout its side something you wont see standing out in a female guppy..tongue.gif
