I think it was Daryl that mentioned this below.

I would like some more info. So it is possible for me to have a filter running on a new tank, then add another filter that is already established from another tank? If so, Sweeeeet. Would that help it to cycle faster? I never even thought about this before wink.gif

Oh yeah, and the other thing to just start is to take about 30-40% of the water from the other tank, gravel or any fake plants, These all have good stuff on them to jump start a tank....

Koko, thanks, sorry was it you that suggested that? LOL of course you are not Daryl wink.gif biggrin.gif

That is a great idea. I was trying to figure out how was best to cycle new tank that I am hopefully getting Thursday or Friday. I think I'm going to use an established filter, some tank water, and some plants like you suggested. Wahooo.

Thank you for having the best board ever. You have no idea how much I have learned by coming here!

Thanks again

Try using bio-spira it bypass the ammonia-nitrite cycle. I did it few days back work like a champ. I just replace my old gravel with new, add some drift wood,
used the same old filter and put some new carbon and also add few plants plus put all my gold fishes and dollar fish in this 30G hex tank.

no problem so far but keep an eye on ammonia if it spike just change 25% water.
If you bio-spira it should not spike that high.
