Yes my two sick goldfish developed this white line on the tips of their tail fins. Kinda looks a bit puffy. I looked at the diseases list and determined it was fin rot, any ideas?

well, I looked and I decided to get Kanacyn (hoping the fish store has it) and if they dont, anyone have any ideas what else will work good? Also, will it hurt the fish? because they have another Ick medicine already in there (doesnt want to overmedicate)

lol, odd you would say that, because that is what I ended up getting smile.gif

How many meds do you have in the tank now and what conditions are you trying to treat? Finrot, especially in its earliest stages, is not a serious condition. I would concentrate on one thing at a time. You could very well stress your fish enough with the bombardment of meds that you end up doing him in.

just some Ick medicine and the fungus stuff, it has been 4 days since I put the Ick medicine in

I would suggest you treat one problem at a time and not mix meds. Your fish may not handle the stress of all the meds too well, and fungus and finrot are not serious enough conditions in their early stages to risk simultaneous treatments with different meds.

Is this the same tank with the fish that had the red spots on them? Have you gotten your water tested for nitrites yet? How bad is the ich? Your fish could have a bacterial infection, and if that is the case (get your water checked!) then that should be your #1 priority, possibly with the ich at a close second.

Oh, those poor fish...

yeah, I got it checked yesterday! smile.gif ammonia and nitrites are 0, and the nitrate cycle is beginning. The red streaks and stuff are clearing up greatly, and they are more active. I also got a nitrite test kit today, which also read 0
