Full Version: Bit Of A Mess

Pollock
I decided to make my own filter cartridges for my mini whisper filter in my guppy tank. I got the idea from someone on the forum. This is a much cheaper way to go, but you have to be careful. The bulk batting that I bought was much thicker than the little floss batting bags that you buy for the filter, so the bags that I made (using handy dandy silicone) were much thicker. Anyway, long story short, the filter overflowed. But the worst part is that the water leaked out of the tank so slowely that I didn't even notice. The tank is on my chest of drawers, so the water leaked into my sock drawer. This must have been happening for at least a week before I noticed because I found mold growing on the bottom of the drawer ill.gif . EWWWWWW! so I had to wash every pair of socks I own and wear sandels for a couple of days. smile.gif

Gross, that is a horrible thing to deal with. What a lesson for others though, I"ll have to remember this when I go to make my own.

Ack! You poor girl. At least you didn't get mold on all your clothes... it would be a little hard to go to work naked for those few days. biggrin.gif
