I Just got a brand new 29 gallon tank I am so excited biggrin.gif I have a ? .There are alot of Bubbles on the walls and is cloudy . Will these go away?
I have put Aqua clear in it and have 3 small common Gf and a pleco in it. I have also put a live plant a Brazil sword . When it is done cycling I am going to put My fantail and oranda in it Minus the commons and pleco. They will go back to the pond.

Cloudy water is usually a sign that the tank hasn't cycled yet, it should hopefully go away once the process is done.

And bubbles? blink.gif Are they really tiny and stuck to the tank walls? If so, that's usually the result of new, fresh water being poured into the tank all at one time. Those little bubbles are filled with gases from the water (nitrogen, etc) if I'm correct. I don't believe it's really a problem unless these bubbles get in your fish's gills.

The bubbles are normal in a new tank when it is filled, i have in the past just fanned the bubbles off the glass and any decorations in the tank that they have attached to.

oh, so if a tank is not fully circled, the water will be cloudy?
no wonder i could not clear the water even with the crystal clear solution.
i just learn something new again biggrin.gif

Yep, the cloudiness is the beneficial bacteria trying to find a place to colonize. No amount of those polymeric flocculants (sp?) will clear it, so all you need to do is wait 'til your tank finishes cycling. Then it'll look like your fish are floating on air!

Oh thank you very much as I woke up this am the tank was clear and the Bubbles were gone . All fish were very happy . I put some rocks that were in the other tank and plants so it would get some bacteria from that and cycle well. As of the Pm all is well tank looks great all prams are well except hardness but thats because I have a well and used that water to fill it.

So did you use your filter from the 10 gallon tank in your new 29?

Well water has a tendency to form bubbles from what I hear from dissolved gasses. You may want to draw up some and let it sit out for a while for partial water changes.

You'll need to test your water params daily for a while and do partial water changes to keep ammonia and nitrIte low.

re hardness: What did your GH and KH test at?

Well I Put some rocks from other tank and have added live plants the water prams on 4th day are Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0 Hard 150 Alk 120 Ph 7.8 And yes I have the Filter from old tank on there as well. I have been checking water every day and it is doing well so far. also added silk plants from other tank as well .
