hi neka.

sorry to hear abut your little one. sad.gif

you are right. often, during treatments, raising the temp a bit makes all the difference. wink.gif

how many gallons is your hospital tank?

pretty much the best way to heat a tank is to get a submersible heater that is rated for your size tank. a ten gallon would do very well with a 100-150 watt heater. getting the best one you can get is very important in that the cheaper ones can malfunction and cause the tank to either overheat or get too cold.

i hope this helps you some. smile.gif

yeah, a submerssible heater is best, get a quality one if you can, I had a really cheap one on my cichlid tank a while back and the dial you use to set the temperature messed up, and after that, its just not worth the few dollars of savings.

For a hospital tank you don't need that many watts really, the smallest one will do just fine, unless your place is freezing or the tank is bigger than a typical 5-10 gallon hospital tank.

Hi neka, I am currently running my main tank as a hospital tank, for two goldfish. I heat the water to 24C. The heater cost me £8.99, so not too pricey! smile.gif
