I'm not sure if this is one of those times when he just happens to be missing scales or if it's serious. But why take the chance.

Ammonia- 0 ppm
Nitrate- 20 ppm
Ph out of tap- about 7.6
Filtration- plant and chemical
Water conditioner- AquaSafe
Food- floating pellets, dried blood worms, and baby shrimp (and i always soak it for at least 5 minutes)
Behavior- normal
Nitrite- 0 ppm
Tank- 29 gallons
Ph-7.5
water changes occur every 3 weeks, and i change as much water as needed (usually about 25%)
1 fish, he's not new, and from nose to end of tail i'd say he is about 6 inches
nothing unusual other than scales missing
i don't know the chloramines

I really hope this helps

biggrin.gif hi sounds like he might have bumped in to something and maybe scratched them off. do u have anything he might have scratched himself on
wonder
Well, he's really not used to toys in his tank, so I guess so. Thanks so much. I just don't want him to start getting sick without knowing about it.

hi wonder smile.gif

from time to time, a goldfish will lose a scale or two. they almost always grow back very quickly.

i would just keep a close eye on him for now. if he starts to lose more scales and/or starts acting sick (not eating, bottom sitting, white stringy poo) let us know and we can help you diagnose and treat it.

good luck wink.gif
