will this owrk? it says its for jams ..... the ingrediants(in order) sugar,pectin,fumaric acid. im not shure if any of thoughs owuld be ok for a goldfish. im looking into making some jell food and saw that in the cubbord. just wondering if it would work/and or be ok for the goldies. Also I have regular jellow but that probly wouldnt be ok because of the die and shugar? i can get plain gellitain no problem i was just wondering.

I wouldn't use it because it is mostly sugar. The knox unflavored gelatin should be fine. There is also a type of seaweed called Agar Agar, it is Gelidium and Gracilaria seaweed. It can be used the same way as unflavored gelatin and it doesn't contain any animal products or additives. You can find it in healthfood stores. I would think that would be even better!

I've used agar agar to make gel food, and it works like gelatin, with a little different texture. I've never used pectin to make gel food, but if you want to use it, try Pomona's Pectin. It's pure pectin with no additives. You can get it in natural food stores. Most pectins have additives in them, which probably wouldn't be so great for your fishies. smile.gif
