I can't say that I have used it. My big concern, that maybe some other people on the board can answer, is that increasing the amount of CO2 in the water may harm the fish by decreasing the amount of diffused O2. I am not sure, I don't know how the diffusion process works.
Alternatively, there are plant fertilizers you can get, however the fishes provide their own fertilizer

. And to have a successful planted tank you need to make sure there is enough light in the first place. I think the rule is 2 watts per gallon, and a full spectrum light.
Are you going to be putting plants in your goldfish tank? Just realize they may munch on them and put a lot of your money to waste. I have found that java moss, java fern, and anubias all work well under lower lighting conditions and the goldfish don't snack on them. My tank also has 3 huge sword plants that are taking over as well.
