Ive heard that when doing big water changes the water will get cloudy. I did a 50 percent water change and the water is cloudy. Will this clear and if so how long
jclif1995
it will clear. give it a few days.

I do 50% changes every week, and the water is sometimes cloudy for about 10 minutes after the change, if the temp was a little too warm of the water I was adding. This is due to the higher levels of oxygen in the warmer water, you can see all the tiny bubbles. That's the only cloudiness I ever see in my 50%+ water changes.

Did the water get cloudy right after the water change or did it become cloudy overnight? If it was just after the water change, then it can be due thousands of tiny air bubbles in the tap water (as Myaj mentioned) and should become clear in a few hours. If it happens overnight, then it is due to a bacterial bloom and will take a couple of days to become clear.
