I don't have much salt to spare...and I was wondering if you could...shrink the amount of water and salt down to like one quart of water...and how much salt would you use for that?
Thanks in advance!! heartpump.gif

We have to make it clear, this is about SALT BATH..

What is salt bath, merely dipping a fish into salted solution for a short period of time and removing it..

therefore, not much water is required for this purpose.. so long it is sufficient to cover the fish and sufficient space for you to work with the fish.. and for salt bath/salt dip, you need at least 0.3% - 0.5% concentration depending on what's the situation.. 0.3% is 3 teaspoon per gallon of water and you work out how much salt you need according to the ratio..

and do not reuse the same salted solution more than once.. why?? the purpose of salt dip is to help the fish to purge or strip the fish of the outer protective layer.. and you dun want the fish to absorb whatever has been released isn't it??

one point to take note though, use aged water and not FRESH TAP water..

and it is a good habit to stock up salt..

Hmm....
I guess it makes sense you can't use the same dip over and over....Which means I'm gonn ahve to go out and buy a LOT of salt..I suppose it also means you can't use the same dip for each fish, you have to use a fresh one for every fish?

Thanks
