Is there a paper that came with your test kit? did you mix it up? how many drops did you put? what kind of test kit is it?

i did exactly wat da instructions said. i put 1ml of tank water in to the cup and then one spoon of the powder in the cup with the water and waited for it to change colour.

the colour chart says it is 4ppm, wat does dat mean??

hi chicken, how long have you had the tank set up ? nitrate is the end product of the nitrogen cycle and this will go away through your filter being ready and water changes,
i think 4ppm means the same as 4mg/l IF so this is not to bad smile.gif
Chicken
it has been set up about a month. i am using mollies to cycle it

biggrin.gif re do the test kits and take the results back to the shop. they will tell you what they mean. i use a test strip which you read off the back of the cannister, it has all the readings you need so it is much simpler to use and understand. its called eSHa.
