If the water quality is right they will spawn pretty much anytime. Sometimes they will spawn if the water temperature increases slightly.

it is most likely they will spawn in spring and early summer if they are in a pond, if they are in a tank, they can breed pretty much any time because the temperature of the water can change and this triggers the breeding.
