Hiya, I'm a new kid, so first off, hope I have the right board to ask my question! Koko's has been a brilliant board for me to pilpher whilst setting up my pond, but now I am a month in, I just have a quick issue I'd like some top tips for..so can you help any?

I have just put in a new small filter and suddenly my water looks cloudy ( whitish grey), I know this can be a bacterial bloom, or chemicals in the water, or well lots of things, but is there anything I can do right now that would make sure its nothing serious thats going to hurt my fish? Or alternatively, could it be to do with the new filter in some way? ( submerged filter using filter wool and carbon)

Hope you can offer me a few hints! oo and I did a 40% water change yesterday! Thankyou!

It sounds like a bacterial bloom, and I don't think there is much you can do, but wait it out.

This often happens with new setups, and it doesn't seem to be harmful to the fish.

Good luck and welcometo.jpg
